Rehab Programs at The Children's Hospital in Nashville

Physical Therapy

  • Developmental delays caused by conditions such as autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, cerebellar atrophy, Prader-Wili syndrome, and dwarfism
  • Trouble with balance and coordination
  • Difficulty walking or running
  • General weakness

Speech Therapy

  • Deficits in feeding, swallowing, and oral-motor skills
  • Delayed or minimal talking compared to other children
  • Articulation and phonological disorders including difficulty understanding, following directions, and/or speaking

Occupational Therapy

  • Deficits in sensory, motor, oral-motor, and neuromuscular skills
  • Developmental delay of age-appropriate self-help skills, such as dressing, feeding self, organizational skills, memory, and problem solving
  • Lack of coordination, strength, and overall function
  • Follow-up assessment and treatment of NICU graduates at risk for developmental delay
