FAQs

When do I bring my child to Kids Express?

Your pediatrician or family practice physician will refer you to Kids Express if outpatient services are needed to get your little one feeling better quickly.

What type of services does Kids Express offer?

Kids Express offers outpatient pediatric services that your pediatrician would traditionally refer you to an Emergency Room or adult outpatient center for, including imaging, medical lab work, IV therapy and respiratory therapy.

Do I need an appointment for care at Kids Express?

No appointment is necessary for Kids Express! Leave your pediatrician's office with a referral and come straight to us. There is little to no wait for services.

What hours are Kids Express open?

Kids Express is open Monday-Friday from 8:00am - 8:00pm and on Saturdays from 9:00am - 1:00pm. If you need outpatient pediatric care during non-office hours, your child can be seen in the main TriStar Centennial Emergency Room.

Where is Kids Express located?

Kids Express is located on the 2nd floor of The Children's Hospital at TriStar Centennial. A dedicated Kids Express entrance is located on Patterson Street, between 22nd and 23rd Avenues North, with convenient surface parking available directly across the street.

Who provides the outpatient pediatric services at Kids Express?

Kids Express services are provided by a dedicated staff specially trained in pediatric care.

What makes Kids Express different than the Emergency Room?

Kids Express is only for children up to age 18 who need outpatient services that are beyond the care provided in your pediatrician's office. We provide the same outpatient services as an emergency room in a kid-friendly environment and without the wait. If your child requires a higher level of care after outpatient services, we have board-certified pediatricians and pediatric critical care physicians, as well as pediatric-trained nurses, available 24/7 in our Pediatric Medical/Surgical Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

What if my child needs more specialized care after outpatient services are provided at Kids Express?

If your child requires a higher level of care after outpatient services at Kids Express, you're already in the The Children's Hospital at TriStar Centennial. We have board-certified pediatricians and pediatric critical care physicians, as well as pediatric-trained nurses, available 24/7 in our Pediatric Medical/Surgical Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Our team can also quickly connect with your pediatrician to keep him or her informed of your child's needs.

Is the Kids Express staff trained in pediatric care?

Yes. All of the Kids Express staff specializes in providing care for children.

How will my child's pediatrician know the results of care or testing done at Kids Express?

The Kids Express team becomes an extension of your pediatrician's office. We provide the exact care prescribed for your child and then report the results directly back to your pediatrician.
